Library at St Bede's

Many pupils are avid readers. The library is abuzz with pupils who are keen to share the joy of the latest book they have read.

The library at St. Bede’s is a warm, calm and welcoming place, where students work and relax, supporting their development as effective and independent learners and readers.

The library is staffed by a full-time librarian.

Library opening times:

Monday and Friday 8.30am - 3.20pm

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Book loans:

Students can borrow up to five books at a time for up to three weeks. If they need more time, they can renew their books. They can also place requests for books they want to read.

English library lessons:

Each student at St Bede’s will have a 30-minute weekly library lesson included in their English timetable, where they can enjoy reading and choosing from a wide range of fiction designed to develop their reading skills and interests.

Library induction:

Each student in year 7 will complete a 30-minute library induction lesson during the first half term.
